when heaven and earth spin another conspiracy on our stars

i just saw the third replay of the controversial gospel of judas over the national geographic channel.
i thought watching the show after reading the text could clear up, at least some, cobwebs of thoughts gathering on my mind; but I only got an overload of it.
it was all about judas being a victim of the power struggle in the history of Christianity.
it was all about our mixed up destinies, that every single thing we do is written on the stars.

it’s all about purposes, faith, and hope.
the translated gospel challenges our faith, our seemingly established moral and spiritual foundations.

random thought-webs:
why do I believe in my beliefs?
why am I doing things if only those things were all preconceived and planned to fulfill the bigger picture?
when does free will takes place?
well, if I cease to do anything because of the idea that I am being used and manipulated by some divine plan, I will have no more purpose in this life.
blah.
yada.yada.yada.

one mind boggling chapter of the gospel:

“[…] light [—nearly two lines missing—] around […] let […] spirit [that is] within you
dwell in this [flesh] among the generations of angels. But God caused knowledge to be
[given] to Adam and those with him, so that the kings of chaos and the underworld might
not lord it over them.”

Judas said to Jesus, “So what will those generations do?”

Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, for all of them the stars bring matters to completion.
When Saklas completes the span of time assigned for him, their first star will appear with
the generations, and they will finish what they said they would do. Then they will
fornicate in my name and slay their children [55] and they will […] and [—about six and
a half lines missing—] my name, and he will […] your star over the [thir]teenth aeon.”

After that Jesus [laughed].

[Judas said], “Master, [why are you laughing at us]?”

[Jesus] answered [and said], “I am not laughing [at you] but at the error of the stars,
because these six stars wander about with these five combatants, and they all will be
destroyed along with their creatures.”

well, after all, it was a refreshing experience. i found the exaltation of judas’ character from a villain to
a protagonist rewarding. It is nice to see his character in a new light, although the gospel speak nothing of the historical judas and jesus.

i just still can’t fathom the possibility and the probability that our destinies and actions are could have been screwed up and toyed by the heavens.

it’s such a pain in the skull.

another painful thing, one consequence of knowing more than you should know:
deprivation of your sense of self-peace.

I will not spill any of the the beans here.

the freewill and determination dichotomy again. ha ha.

there are, of course, a thousand ways of answering this question, and in doing so, commenting also on other religious dogmas. although i want to dwell on it, i don't want to preach what i really cannot know.

anyway, there's this analogy i've picked up somewhere in the blog world which i think suits my own view on it as well. try to think of god's plan as a coloring book, and our own actions, decisions as the process of coloring it. we can choose not to color it, of course, but that itself is a choice based on an already-given condition. :)

i really love that free will and destiny issue... i remember that one time nung inabot kame ng 6am in the morning ng 2 friends ko just because of this argument! each has its own point...walang manalo.. ang nakakatuwa each of us learn

kung sana i can talk to you in person pra ipaliwanag ang standing ko with regards with this issue.... kase baka mapuno ang space dito! eheheh!

just keep this in mind. no one will be able to know everything in this world.(even the smartest person don't)and as long as there is mystery you can't solve, as long as there something that's beyond your reasoning... there's God...
