just seconds after the closing credits roll on the screen, i feel like i wanted to be a kick-ass gunman, an assassin that can wear a sleek black leather jacket, and make bullets dance in the air as i shoot them and chase their targets.
see, this is what the movie wanted made me feel. since i got off from the movie house, i feel like an empowered geek ready to bring down my enemies with just one ala wesley gibson shot.
although some scenes were reminiscent of the matrix movie, director timur bekmambetov presented the movie in fast-paced sequences of action bearing a plot that is easy to follow.
james mc avoy delivered a great performance. he is the perfect burned-out accounts manager and the perfect assassin that can shoot bullets that bend their way in the air. great actor, mr mc avoy is. from being the faun at narnia’s first movie, i’d say he has improved a whole lot.
saying that angelina jolie is hot is an understatement. she sizzles. wooh! she is the sun. she makes me go crazy around her. she owned the character. since her debut as lara croft to being the mrs smith alongside brad pitt, she has been the perfect kick-ass female movie action star for me. her eyes are just piercingly hot, powerful and fierce at the same time. and did i say she is still gorgeous even in death?
morgan freeman also played the mystery of his character very well. his reserved actions and his conversing glances at the camera made him effective in the film.
despite the fact that the film veered away from most of the original plot of the graphic novel, wanted by mark millar, (discarding the costumes and most of the villains) the writers and the director still pulled off an exciting easy to follow plot. of course there were loopholes much like the small holes in between the woven fabric made by the fates that sends a binary code taht dictates who shall be annihilated next.
oh and by the way, the movie made me think if i am in any way related to rats.
i mean, i am crazy over peanut butter like those exploding rats in the movie.
